14 - Antiga Casa Fabião (Old Fabião's House)

Bento Goncalves St (previously Clara St), across from Rio-grandense Republic park (previously Felicidade Park)

Building ground floor, corner, with the third face (chamfered at the corner) was built in the early 20th century, over low basement with oval gateiras. Main façade has symmetrical composition, with door and two windows in the side doors, balconies and iron railing, straight lintels. In bevel, a curved bar stands with marble floors and railing, a door-window with colored glass and flag beaded on smooth dough and ornaments on the superior part. The façade displays pairs of secondary windows, with French opening frames. All frames are made with rounded corners, typical of the southern districts. The bays of the main and side façades are superimposed on straight lashes. The cyma cornice is structured on continuous antefixes interspersed with pine cones and compoteiras. At the corner, under the curved pediment, an ornamental medallion is dated 1903 with the initials AF. Nowadays it is home to the Rural Syndicate.

The building is protected by the State Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAE) since 1986.
